Lockkeepers Inn, an exclusive four-star restaurant, features a wood radius bar and back bar, wood paneling throughout, ceiling panels and beams, stairs, balcony, columns, trim and furnishings by Ailes Millwork. The original choice of wood was Cherry, but was value engineered to Poplar and beautifully stained and finished by Ailes Millwork to a rich aged cherry tone.
The greatest challenge of the Lockkeepers project was the expansive wall paneling throughout the two-story restaurant. Every piece of woodwork connected to another, including from first to second floors. Precise engineering was a necessity with numerous details to consider. Ongoing communication between Ailes Millwork, the architect and the general contractor contributed to the team working well together and an exceptional finished project. In March 2004 Ailes Millwork was awarded the "Award of Excellence" by The Architectural Woodwork Institute for our outstanding craftsmanship at Lockkeepers Inn.
